MICROBIOME APPLICATIONS IN NUTRITION AND HEALTH AND THE FUTURE OF PERSONALIZED NUTRITION

The human intestine microbiome plays a key role in health and disease. Microbiome management by food ingredients offers opportunities to improve or maintain health, and is among the biggest science promises at present. However, causality relations of the microbiome and health and disease remain poorly understood, and the approaches towards microbiome management are not likely delivering a "one size fits all" solution, but will require a personalized design.
