Food Ingredients Technologies, which specialises in the development and production of functional blends and savoury flavourings, is expanding its service to include food safety consultancy. As part of the Turpaz Group, food businesses can now also turn to the company for sweet flavourings, says David Landau.
This ingredient supplier’s core business is the creation of functional and aromatic solutions for food companies. “We’re ‘hyperflexible’ and deliver on a customer’s terms,” says David Landau, founder and owner of Food Ingredients Technologies. “Our team of six highly trained application-oriented technologists is familiar with the regulations concerning quality, food safety, health and sustainability, as well as the legal requirements.”

Food safety concept
The company is usually involved in its customers’ development projects from the outset. “This creates a bond of trust: it’s easy for companies to come to us when new developments are planned or quality issues need to be resolved,” says Landau. Food safety is part of this. “Our 3D Food Safety concept represents a holistic approach to food safety. We look at a product in three dimensions. First of all, there’s the composition, for which we offer innovative ingredients that protect against microbial contamination. The second dimension includes the surfaces and the immediate surroundings of the product, which can also be protected by various methods. The third level is the hygiene of the facilities and the production environment,” he says. The concept is based on a hazard and risk analysis of the company, its products and processes. According to Landau, other new concepts from Food Ingredients Technologies include a unique vegan burger without allergens with Nutri-Score A and the Salt Booster, a natural flavouring that enhances the perception of salt and thus allows salt levels to be reduced by several dozen percent.
Turpaz Group
The Israeli Turpaz Group is a global company specialising in the development, production and marketing of natural and synthetic, sweet and savoury flavourings for the food, beverage and confectionery industries. Landau: “By being part of this company, we are broadening our market with sweet flavourings, especially for the dairy and baked goods sectors. Sweet flavourings now account for 5% of our sales. In the short term, we want to quadruple this share by offering distinctive taste solutions. Consumers want to enjoy what they eat.”
“Croky crisps are known for their strong flavours and crunchiness. These qualities are important, especially as other brands have recently reduced their flavour intensity”, says Mathilde Taverniers of Roger & Roger.
